LIBRARY ON WHEELS 


Position: Library Associate, full-time 40 hours per week

Have a new adventure while providing excellent customer service on the bookmobile going to various sites and helping patrons once parked, or going to outreach locations.

Description:
-Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
-Must have a valid drivers' license and be insurable on the library's insurance
-Must have excellent knowledge of children’s, young adult, and adult literature
-Must have excellent customer service, communication skills, problem solving skills, and math skills
-Prior experience using computers, a cash register, and credit card machine is needed
-Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, work independently, and handle confidential information
-Must be able to quickly and favorably respond to new or changed responsibilities and/or situations.
-Must be organized and efficient.
-Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 30 pounds of library materials up and down steps, as well as move loaded book crates   that could weigh approximately 50 pounds, and move loaded book carts that could weigh up to 200 pounds on and off vehicle and   inside library building
-Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate library equipment.
-Must have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish letters, words, and numbers
-Must be able to read (including cursive), write and understand English effectively
-Must have regular and predictable attendance. 

Qualifications:
-Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
-Must have a valid drivers' license and be insurable on the library's insurance
-Must be able to safely drive a 30' commercial vehicle following a designated route
-Must have good knowledge of children’s, young adult, and adult literature
-Must have excellent customer service, communication skills, problem solving skills, and math skills 
-Must have experience creating and presenting events and story times for all ages, particularly children
-Prior experience using computers, a cash register, and credit card machine is needed Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, work   independently, and handle confidential information
-Must be able to quickly and favorably respond to new or changed responsibilities and/or situations.
-Must be organized and efficient.
-Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 30 pounds of library materials up and down steps, as well as move loaded book crates   that could weigh approximately 50 pounds, and move loaded book carts that could weigh up to 200 pounds on and off vehicle and   inside library building
-Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to operate library equipment and perform general typing and keyboard operation that will   enable assurance of position requirement
-Must have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish, produce, and view a wide variety of materials in both print and electronic format as   needed for the position.
-Must be able to read (including cursive), write and understand English effectively
-Must be able to work in areas that may contain dust or other possible allergens
-Must have regular and predictable attendance.

Hours:
40 hours per week, generally Monday - Friday, may include some evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Salary:
Starts at $9.85 per hour, pay is more depending on experience.

MIDDLETOWN

Position:  Maintenance Custodian, Library Associate, full-time, 40 hours per week

Join the MidPointe maintenance team where your knowledge of cleaning, power tools, and overall maintenance will ensure a safe and clean environment for our patrons and employees.

Description:
-Provide excellent customer service by ensuring that library buildings, grounds, and equipment are clean, safe, and ready for customer   and staff use
-Travel to other branches, as needed. Routinely monitor, and when directed, perform preventative or repair work on library facilities,   buildings, grounds, and related equipment
-Perform janitorial and landscaping duties.
-May assist vendors and contractors regarding maintenance related matters
-Other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
-Must have high school diploma or equivalent Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable on the library’s policy
-Must have good working knowledge of power cleaning and polishing tools, cleaning solutions, snow removal equipment, minor   repair equipment, and  use in a safe, efficient, and effective manner
-Must have good computer and math skills
-Good verbal and written communication skills are needed
-Must be able to follow direction and work within deadlines to complete projects and assignments
-Must be able to work in areas that may contain dust or other possible allergens
-Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, kneel, reach, climb, lift objects up to 75 pounds and move objects that could   weigh up to 200 pounds
-Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate library equipment.
-Must have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish letters, words, and numbers
-Must be able to read (including cursive), write, and understand English effectively.
-Must be able to learn and carry out the essential responsibilities of the position
-Must have regular and predictable physical attendance as required.

Hours:  
Regularly scheduled 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday 10:00 - 7:00, plus on rotating emergency schedule.

Salary:  
Pay range $9.85 to $13.39 per hour, commensurate with experience.

WEST CHESTER
 

Position: Library Aide (Job D1)

Description:
•  Provide excellent customer service.
•  Shelve library materials in the proper location according to the Dewey Decimal system or alphabetically.
•  Maintain shelves by shifting materials.
•  Evaluate the condition of materials.
•  Check materials in using the automated sorting machine.
•  Sort book drop materials
•  Using lists, pull items off shelves and file onto carts.
•  Answer directional questions.
•  Clerical duties and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
•  Must be at least 16 years of age.
•  Prior computer experience is necessary. Must be able to use library equipment such as computers and printers.
•  Must be able to use conveyor belt machinery.
•  Must be able to file by the Dewey Decimal System and alphabetically.
•  Must have attention to detail, be accurate, organized, able to prioritize, multi-task, and have good time management skills.
•  Must be able to retrieve items out of deep bins and place items on carts.
•  Must be able to work independently and with others.
•  The ability to move full book carts or crates that could weigh up to 200 pounds is needed.
•  Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate library equipment.
•  Must have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish letters, words, and numbers.
•  Must be able to work in areas that may contain dust or other possible allergens.
•  Must be able to hear, read (including cursive), write, speak, and understand English effectively as well as have sufficient dexterity         and visual acuity to meet the job requirements.
•  Must have regular and predictable physical attendance.

Hours
: 10 hours per week       
Week One: Thursday 8-11, Friday 8-11, Saturday 8-12.                
Week Two: Monday 8-12, Tuesday 8-11, Wednesday 8-11.  

Benefits: Includes required Ohio Public Employees Retirement System retirement plan; required direct deposit; paid time off; holiday pay; and more.      

Salary:  $8.55 per hour, pay is more depending on experience.
