Have a new adventure every day while providing excellent customer service on the bookmobile, going to various sites and helping patrons once parked, or going to outreach locations.

Position:
Library Associate, part time, 2 openings

Hours:
Part-time, 24 hours per week, generally 8:00 - 5:00 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (Job 1)
            Part-time, 24 hours per week, generally 8:00 - 5:00 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (Job2)

Salary:
Starts at $9.85 per hour, more depending on experience.

Your bookmobile adventure would include:
- Driving the bookmobile to various sites and help patrons once parked.
- Identifying routes, drive, maneuver, park, monitor, and secure the bookmobile.
- Desk-type responsibilities include checking materials in and out, issuing library cards, assist patrons with the selection and location
   of books, collecting overdue fines and lost material costs, helping patrons with library equipment and explaining policies and                 procedures.
- Develop, create, and present several monthly programs or story times.
- Opening and closing duties.
- Other duties as requested or assigned.

The successful applicant will have these qualities:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver license and be insurable on the library's insurance.
Must be able to safely drive a 30' commercial vehicle following a designated route.
Must have good knowledge of children’s, young adult, and adult literature.
Must be able to read (including cursive), write and understand English effectively.
Must be able to work in areas that may contain dust or other possible allergens.
Must have regular and predictable attendance

Description: ·Provide excellent customer service.
·        Shelve library materials in the proper location according to the Dewey Decimal system or alphabetically.
·        Maintain shelves by shifting materials.
·        Evaluate the condition of materials.
·        Retrieve and sort book drop materials.
·        Pull discards, holds, and materials from lists. 
·        Assist programmers with program preparation
·        Assist with opening/closing procedures such as loading and unloading bins.
·        Answer directional questions.
·        Clerical duties and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
·        Must be at least 16 years of age.
·        Prior computer experience is necessary.
·        Must be able to use library equipment such as computers and printers.
·        Must be able to file by the Dewey Decimal System and alphabetically.
·        Must have attention to detail, be accurate, organized, able to prioritize, multi-task, and have good time management skills.
·        Must be able to work independently and with others.
·        Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and visual acuity to distinguish letters, words, and
         numbers for position requirements. Must have the ability to reach, move book crates that could weigh up to 75 pounds
         when full, and move book carts that could weigh up to 200 pounds when full.

JOB SUMMARY: As a library associate you would...       
- Have a high level of professionalism, courtesy, 
  and a positive outlook in order to provide excellent customer service to our  patrons       
- Answer information and reference questions in-person and over the phone, using print and electronic resources       
- Provide directional information, reading recommendations, accept passport applications, help patrons check in/out,
  make library cards, and give instruction on how to use the online card catalog, the Internet, print station, e-reader tablets, 
  and library databases   
- Create and present several monthly creative library programming for adults

To be successful you..       
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent        
- Must provide evidence of U.S. citizenship for passport duties        
- Must have excellent customer service, a strong service ethic, sound judgement, and excellent problem solving skills        
- Need computer experience       
- Must be able to quickly and favorably respond to new or changed responsibilities and/or situations
   and be able to multi-task, prioritize, and handle confidential information       
- Should be able to plan and present programs for adults       
- Should have a knowledge of literature, particularly for adults and teens

DESCRIPTION:
As a makerspace specialist you would...
- Have a high level of professionalism, courtesy, and a positive outlook in order to provide excellent customer service to our patrons
- Create and present engaging & appropriate weekly STEAM related educational, cultural, or library-oriented programs,
  school visits, outreach, and group tours for all ages
- Provide technology training and instruction, assist, mentor, and help those using the makerspace
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, clean, and troubleshoot equipment such as 3D, vinyl & sublimation printers; engravers;
  presses, and audio visual production equipment

To be successful you...
-
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a STEAM related degree is highly desired
- Must have proficiency with various hardware and software such as 3D printers; cutters; engravers,
  sewing machines; audio/visual production equipment; MS Office; the Internet, and ideally the library catalog
- Need experience working/familiarity with the operation and processes involved with DIY making;
  knowledge of 3D modeling and printing/fabrication; audio/visual production; and the usage of basic hand tools
- Must be able to effectively and creatively problem solve, particularly when procedures are not clearly defined;
  make independent judgments in the absence of supervision; be adaptable; positively handle and adapt to change;
  and be organized  and efficient
- Must be able to quickly and favorably respond to new or changed responsibilities and/or situations and be able to
  multi-task, prioritize, and handle confidential information
- Must be able to create and present engaging programs/events for all ages
- Should have a knowledge of literature, particularly for adults and teens
- Must have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish, produce, and view a wide variety of materials in both print and electronic formats
- Must have the ability to work in areas that have loud noise, fumes, dust, or other possible allergens
- Need to be able to retrieve parts and pieces in the area, move bins, boxes, or crates that could weigh up to 75 pounds when full,
   and move carts that could weigh up to 200 pounds when full.
