Position: Cataloger - Library Specialist, Technical
Part-time, 20 hours per week
Description: Provide excellent customer service by quickly
and accurately doing original and copy cataloging of print and non-print
materials according to cataloging standards. Assist with local database
management. Will do some processing with RFID tags. Assist with cataloging
statistics. Other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or
equivalent. Prior cataloging experience is required. Must have good working
knowledge of cataloging standards and principles. Must have excellent computer
skills including ILS, the Internet, word processing, spreadsheets, google
drive, and able to troubleshoot printers. Must have excellent proofreading
skills and be able to multi-task, prioritize, problem solve, and have good
organization skills. Must be able to quickly and favorably respond to new or
changed responsibilities and/or situations. Must be able to hear, read, write,
speak, and understand English effectively. Must have manual dexterity and visual
acuity to meet job requirements. The above position requires standing and
moving, bending, lifting, sitting, and crouching. Carrying full book crates and
moving fully loaded book carts that could weigh up to 75 pounds is required. Regular and predictable physical attendance
Salary: $12.73 per hour, more depending on experience
Hours: Generally Monday – Friday, mornings would be
Position: Shelver, part time, 15 hours per week
Description: This individual will shelve library materials
by the Dewey Decimal system or alphabetically and evaluate the condition of the
material before shelving it. Maintain
shelves by shifting materials so the shelves are not too tight while
maintaining the filing system. Use the
one-line card catalog computer to verify location of material.
Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age. Must be able to file quickly and
accurately. The ability to work in a
team environment and communicate with team members and the team leader is
essential. Must be able to stand, bend,
lift, stoop, crouch and move fully loaded book carts that could weigh up to 75
pounds. Must have regular and predictable
attendance as required.
Hours: 3 hours per day, 5 days per week, Monday –
Friday between 8:30 and 12:00 (flexible).

Salary: $8.15 per hour
Position: Library Associate, part-time, 20 hours per
Provide excellent customer service while helping patrons
desk, while roving, or on the telephone. Answer information and reference
questions using print and electronic resources. Desk and roving
responsibilities include providing directional information, reader’s advisory,
issue library cards, collect fines & fees, and give instruction on how to
use the online card catalog, the Internet, print station, e-reader tablets, library
databases and the self-check machine. Explain library policies and procedures.
Other duties as requested or assigned.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. College
degree desired. Must have excellent customer service, problem solving, and
communication skills. Must have excellent experience using Word, Excel, the
Internet, e-reader tablets, and library databases. Must have excellent
knowledge of literature that appeals to patrons of all ages. Will need to be
able to give instruction on the online card catalog, the Internet, databases, self-check
machine, and other library equipment. Must be organized and efficient. Bending,
lifting, sitting, crouching, stooping, and the ability to move full book carts
or crates that could weigh up to 75 pounds is needed. Must have manual
dexterity sufficient to operate library equipment. Must have sufficient visual
acuity to distinguish letters, words, and numbers. Must have regular and
predictable attendance as required.
Regularly scheduled 20 hours per week:
Sunday 12:45 –
Monday 4:15 – 9:15
Wednesday 4:15 – 9:15
Thursday 4:15 – 9:15
Starts at $9.43 per hour, depending on experience

Monitor (Shelver II), Circulation, 20 hours per week, part-time
This individual will primarily check-in library
materials using the automated materials handling system, sort book drop
materials, and monitor the materials handling system. Evaluate returned
materials for damage and missing parts & pieces. They may also put items in
order on carts and shelve library materials.
Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Must
have prior computer experience. Prior experience working with conveyor belt
machinery is helpful. Must be able to file quickly and accurately. The ability
to effectively communicate with team members and the team leader is essential.
Must be able to work in a team environment and work independently. Must be able
to stand, bend, lift, stoop, crouch, and move fully loaded book carts or bins
that could weigh up to 75 pounds. Must have manual dexterity sufficient to
operate library equipment. Must have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish

8:00 – 1:00, Thursday 12:00 – 5:00, Friday 3:00 – 7:00
