Position: Cataloger - Librarian, Technical Services
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Description: Provide excellent customer service by quickly
and accurately doing original and copy cataloging of print and non-print
materials according to cataloging standards. Assist with local database
management. Assist with acquisitions. Will do some processing with RFID tags.
Assist with cataloging statistics. Other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications: Must have an ALA accredited MLS degree. Prior
original cataloging and copy cataloging experience is required. Must have excellent
working knowledge of cataloging standards and principles. Must have excellent
computer skills including ILS, the Internet, word processing, spreadsheets,
google drive, and able to troubleshoot printers. Must have excellent
proofreading skills and be able to multi-task, prioritize, problem solve, and
have good organization skills. Must be able to quickly and favorably respond to
new or changed responsibilities and/or situations. Must be able to hear, read,
write, speak, and understand English effectively. Must have manual dexterity
and visual acuity to meet job requirements. The above position requires standing
and moving, bending, lifting, sitting, and crouching. Carrying full book crates
and moving fully loaded book carts that could weigh up to 75 pounds is
required. Regular and predictable physical
attendance is required.
Salary: $16.46 per hour, more depending on experience
Hours: generally Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 5:00
Position: Library Specialist, Accounting, Full-time, 40 hours per week
Due to a
retirement, we have a full-time opening for an individual in our finance
You would process
accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cash receipts, and invoices.
Assist in receipting all library income, and posting expenses. Prepare purchase
orders, monitoring open purchase order’s until closed. Assist with the budget
process, the bidding process, record retention, the auditing process, and the
preparation of month and year end closings. Assist employees with finance-type
problems. All positions provide excellent customer service demonstrating a
professional, courteous, and respectful attitude towards all internal and
bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business is required. Experience
in public sector accounting is highly desired. Must be able to demonstrate
experience with AP/AR, PO procedures, and payroll processes. Must have
knowledge of fund accounting and GAAP. Must have a high proficiency level with
MS Office, accounting software, google, and have advanced Excel skills.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is required. Must be able to
work independently and with others, be organized, efficient, able to
prioritize, collaborate, be self-motivated, adapt to changing needs, problem
solve, and handle confidential information. Must have above average math
skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, customer service skills, as
well as verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively
hear, read, write, speak, and understand English as well as sufficient
dexterity and visual acuity to meet the job requirements. Sitting, standing,
walking, lifting, and moving up to 50 pounds is required. Must have regular and
predictable on-site attendance as required.

Provide excellent customer service while helping patrons at
the information/reference desk, while roving, or on the telephone. Develop,
create, prepare, schedule, promote, and implement regular weekly educational,
cultural, or library-oriented programs and events for adults. Fill-in for
co-workers programs and events as necessary. Answer information and reference
questions using print and electronic resources.
Desk and roving responsibilities include providing computer assistance, reading
recommendations, and giving instruction on how to use the online card catalog,
the Internet, print station, e-reader tablets, and library databases. Explain library policies and procedures.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. A college
degree is highly desired. Must have excellent customer service, problem
solving, and communication skills. Must have prior experience developing a
variety of successful programs and events. Need prior experience working with
all age groups as well as having a strong knowledge of literature, activities,
and programs appropriate for adults. Must have excellent experience using Word,
Excel, the Internet, e-reader tablets, and library databases. Will need to be
able to give instruction on the online card catalog, the Internet, databases,
and library equipment. Must be organized and efficient. Bending, lifting,
sitting, crouching, stooping, and other similar movements are required. Moving
book carts that could weigh up to 75 pounds is needed. Must have manual

Children’s, full-time, regularly scheduled 40 hours/week
Description: As a children’s librarian you would help
customers of all ages in the selection and interpretation of materials in a
fast paced environment. You’d develop and present various weekly programs for
outreach, school age children and family programs, as well as assist the team
with the summer reading program. Develop and maintain relationships with
schools, day cares, community groups, and agencies. Help customers with basic
and complex reference questions at the youth services desk and on the
telephone. General desk responsibilities are also part of the job. Represent
the library at events such as festivals, fairs, parades, and off-site story
times. Other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications: An accredited Masters of Library Science
degree (MLS), or being in the process of obtaining an MLS, is required. Must
have a valid driver’s license, be insurable, and have reliable transportation
for travel to outreach programs and events. The ability to present and deliver
exciting, lively, and animated story times, programs, and events is required.
Must have prior experience developing a variety of successful children’s and
family programs. Must have excellent knowledge of children’s literature. Must
have prior experience using an automated library system and on-line database
searching. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required as we
are a customer oriented and team based library. Sound professional judgment,
good research skills, the ability to multi-task, and excellent verbal and written skills are necessary. Must be able to
hear, read, write, speak, and understand English effectively, as well as have
sufficient dexterity, mobility, and visual acuity to meet job requirements. Movements
such as bending, lifting, sitting, moving, crouching, and moving and lifting
full book crates and other materials that weigh up to 75 pounds is required.

Hours: 40 hours per week. Week One: Sunday rotation,
Monday 8-5, Tuesday 12-9, Wednesday – Friday 8-5, Saturday off. Week Two: Sunday rotation, Monday 8-5,
Tuesday 12-9, Wednesday & Thursday 8-5, Friday off, Saturday 8:15-5:15.
Salary: Starts at $16.36 with MLS, more depending on
experience. Rate will start at $12.73 without MLS.

Associate-Circulation, part-time, 20 hours per week
Description: Provide excellent
customer service while helping patrons at the customer service desk. Desk
responsibilities include helping with the check-out and check-in machines, issuing library cards, collecting
overdue fines and lost material costs, helping with the reserve and hold
materials, assisting customers with the copier and explaining policies and
procedures to customers. Other duties include emptying the bookdrop, checking
in materials, inspecting and sorting returned materials, and other duties as
requested or assigned.
