MidPointe’s “Oceans of Possibilities” Summer Reading Program Kicks Off June 1

MidPointe’s “Oceans of Possibilities” Summer Reading Program Kicks Off June 1

Dive into “Oceans of Possibilities” during this year’s Summer Reading Program at MidPointe Library System. Kicking off Wednesday, June 1st, this two month aquatic-themed celebration offers great books, fun prizes and exciting events for all ages, all for free.

Patrons are challenged to create their own adventure by completing activities from MidPointe’s “Oceans of Possibilities” Odyssey Adventure Log, available for pick up at all Library locations or by download atwww.MidPointeLibrary.org starting June 1. Participants keep track of their accomplishments at home, then come into the Library to reward their achievements and pick up their prizes! Logs are designed for all ages so families can enjoy activities together. Many encourage participants to explore different books or foster early literacy in little ones. Others support adventure around the house or in your community. The fun continues with raffle tickets for grand prizes once the Adventure Log is completed. The Program concludes on Sunday, July 31st.

Throughout the summer, MidPointe’s programming calendar will be jam-packed with exciting events. From jugglers to magicians, MadCap puppets to movie screenings, there is something for everyone. Find MidPointe’s event calendar or pick up a programming calendar with your adventure log.

Looking to get outside and enjoy the weather? MidPointe will host Storytime at the Park every Friday at 10:00 AM, rotating between parks in their service area, including Sunset Park in Middletown, Trenton Community Park, Fort Liberty Playland in Liberty Township, Keehner Park in West Chester and Monroe Community Park. One can also enjoy a stroll outside and check out MidPointe’s many Storywalks®, located outside the Trenton and West Chester branches, along the bike path at Fort Liberty Playland and in Elk Creek MetroPark, Meadow Ridge Area.

This summer, you can also find lunch at the Library! Children from birth to age 18 can receive a lunch Monday through Friday, June 6-August 5 at MidPointe Library Middletown from 12:30-1:00 PM and MidPointe Library Trenton will facilitate distribution at 210 W. Home Avenue Park from 11:30 AM-12:00 PM. The Summer Food Service Program is funded by the USDA and is provided through a partnership between MidPointe Library and Children’s Hunger Alliance.
