ReadLOCAL Indie Author Fair Coming to MidPointe Library Trenton

Twelve local authors, including  New York Times best-selling fantasy writer Sara Raasch, will greet the public, sell and sign their books during MidPointe Library’s annual ReadLOCAL Indie Author Fair Saturday, November 16, from 10 a.m. to noon at its Trenton branch, 200 Edgewood Drive, Trenton. 


The free event will take place in the library’s community room, said Tamara Menninger, Young Adult Library Specialist.  


Raasch is the NYT bestselling author of the Young Adult fantasy trilogy “Snow Like Ashes.” the YA fantasy duology, “Stream Raiders,” and the upcoming duology, “Set Fire to The Gods,” co-written with Kristen Simmons. She is originally from north of Dayton. 


Also appearing will be: 


Trenton resident Timothy B. Barner, author of the novel “Eyes of God” and the young-adult Christian humor novel, “The Sasquatch Diaries.” He is current working on a play about the “changing semantics of a family through their visits to their favorite Dayton restaurant.” 


Stacy Dickman of Southwest Ohio, author of “Labeled: Redefining the Woman God Made You to Be.” She is also a part-time blogger.  


Katie Frankey of Cincinnati, author of the young-adult fiction novel, “Echo.”  

Diane Gronas, author of “Starseeker: The Flower of Tamaroon.” She resides in the Cincinnati area. 


Krysten Lindsay Hager, another award-winning author. Her works include “True Colors,” “Best Friends...Forever?,” “Next Door to a Star,” “Landry In Like,” “Competing with the Star,” “Dating the It Guy,” “Can Dreams Come True?” and “In Over Her Head – Lights, Camera, Anxiety.”  


Sandra Merville Hart, an award-winning and Amazon bestselling author. She is the author of “A Musket In My Hands,” “A Rebel In My House” and “A Stranger On My Land.” Her novellas include “Surprised by Love” in “From The Lake To the River: the Buckeye Christian Fiction Authors 2018 Anthology,” “Trail’s End” from the “Smitten Novella Collection: The Cowboys,” and “Not This Year” from “Christmas Fiction Off The Beaten Path.”   


Lora Logan, author of “Mystic Desire” and “All She Ever Needed.”  


Melinda McIntosh of West Chester, author of the following books of poetry: “A Bit of Tickle for the Mind,” “Tickling God’s Toes,” and “In The Spirit of Halloween.” Melinda grew up in Middletown and Seven Mile and graduated from Edgewood High School and Miami University. 


Mike Sherer, a resident of the Greater Cincinnati area, the author of the paranormal suspense novel, “A Cold Dish.” His novel, “Shadytown,” is scheduled for publication in January. The author of four novellas and eighteen short stories, Sherer also writes a travel blog, “American Locations.” His screenplay, “Hamal 18,” was produced in Los Angeles and released directly to DVD.  


Sara Wagner of West Chester is the author of the chapbook, “Hooked Through.” Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in many journals including “Waxwing,” “The Cincinnati Review,” “Tar River Poetry.” She is the recipient of a 2019 Sustainable Arts Foundation Award and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and “Best of the Net” honors.  


Rebecca Waters of West Chester is the author of “Breathing On Her Own” and “Libby’s Cuppa Joe.” She has published articles in “Chicken Soup for the Soul,” “The Lookout Magazine” and “Home Health Aide Digest.” The retired professor of education at Cincinnati Christian University has also written educational articles and research. 


MidPointe Library Trenton will continue its focus on local authors by hosting its third annual “Teen Writing Contest” throughout the month of November. 

Young authors in grades 6-12 are invited to submit stories in any genre based on the theme, “Journey.” The winner will receive a “prize pack” and his/her story will be published on MidPointe Library’s blog, “The Pointe.”
