Used to convert film and/or slides to digital files for preservation or to use in a digital medium. This process requires that patrons bring with them a digital storage device to save the file (USB drive, portable hard drive, laptop). Preserve old photographs for archiving or sharing with family.

Rapid Picture/Document Scanner - Epson FastFoto FF-680W

Used to scan photographs and documents into a digital format for preservation, document storage, or to use in a digital medium. This process requires that patrons bring with them a digital storage device to save the file (USB drive, portable hard drive, laptop). Preserve old photographs for archiving or sharing among family or digitize important documents.

Elgato Video Capture

Used to convert VHS tapes to digital files for preservation or to use in a digital medium. This process converts in real time, so a 90 minute VHS will take 90 minutes to record and patrons must stay for the entire conversion time. This process requires that patrons bring with them a digital storage device to save the file (USB drive, portable hard drive, laptop). Convert old home videos to preserve or share or other VHS tapes for use on more modern devices.

Digitizing is a process that converts original non-copyrighted images, video, and documents to a digital file for storage and access via a computer.

How much does it cost?
There is no cost to use the equipment. 

Does this machine require training?
Before you can use this machine, you must:
1. Have a MidPointe Library card.
2. Have completed and submitted an Innovation Pointe waiver. Waivers can be completed in the space during normal hours. Minors MUST have a parent or guardian sign in-person. 
3. Must be 10 years or older.

How do I plan a successful project?
You will need to bring storage large enough to save the files created.

What should I bring?
You need to bring your physical media you wish to digitize. In order to get the best results the original media needs to be in the best condition possible.
