MidPointe Library System's 2013 Food For Fines program, which gave library users the opportunity to waive overdue fines in exchange for the donation of non-perishable items, was the most successful campaign in the Library's history. Between November 29th and December 31st, thousands of library patrons participated in the program, which resulted in $5807 in waived fines and over two tons of donated food to local charitable organizations, including Reach Out Lakota, the EMA Food Pantry in Trenton and the Salvation Army of Middletown.

"The Food For Fines program has proven to be a great way to involve our patrons in giving back to the community," remarked Library Director Anita Carroll. "We have enjoyed a tremendous positive response from our patrons, staff and community partners, and plan on continuing the program in the future."
