Resume Help, Online Classes and More with New Databases

Need help with a resume, have a report due about an author or want to take a class in wedding planning?  The newest additions to the MidPointe Library System's database collection can provide assistance with all these and more.

The MidPointe Library System has complemented their already impressive database collection by adding Cypress Resume, Universal Class, Something About the Author and Literature Resource Center

Cypress Resume is an online tool that generates professional resumes in a matter of minutes.  Users enter in basic information regarding education, skills and job history and Cypress Resume generates a uniquely formatted document to assist in job hunting.

The Something About the Author database is the digital version of the award-winning reference series of the same name and features information on the lives and work of authors and illustrators of books for children and young adults.  It is an ideal tool both students and teachers can use to complete class assignments, prepare for presentations, and write papers.

Literature Resource Center is a collection of critical, biographical and contextual content from authors and their works in all genres and disciplines, from all time periods and from around the world.  This database includes thousands of articles and essays, as well as the full text of poems, short stories, plays and more.

Universal Class offers learners a unique online education experience.  Real instructors guide the classes, featuring video-based lessons, a collaborative learning environment, graded tests, certificates of achievement and Continuing Education Units available for selected courses.  Students enjoy an engaging and measureable learning experience that helps them master and document their educational goals.  Class offerings include courses in exercise and fitness, entrepreneurship, arts and music, home and garden care, cooking, computers and technology, health and medicine, homeschooling, job assistance, law, parenting, and pet and animal care.

These new databases are accessible through the Library's website at www.MidPointeLibrary.org/research-database-collections/ and patrons need only enter their library card number to use them in any of the Library's locations or from home.
